Your Breastfeeding Experience curriculum is simple, understandable, completely fact-driven, and unbiased. You will learn communication styles for you and your partner, what happens to your body to produce milk and provide for your baby, and how your baby and you develop the skills to nurse. We will also discuss stages of growth, how to properly store milk, and what to expect in the first year.
Flourishing Families isn't just another baby class or birth class. We spend the first part of our three core classes talking about communication styles, personality types, and how that impacts your experiences with your partner and care team.
This course will take you 2-3 hours to complete depending on the conversations you and your partner have as you work through the material. We encourage these conversations so please, take the time to discuss!
This course will provide factual knowledge to you and your partner. Once you understand what your body is experiencing, what your baby is experiencing, and the overall skill-set you and your baby are learning, breastfeeding will seem more manageable.
A major focus throughout this course is to discuss the physiological changes your body experiences during breastfeeding as well as the learning curve for you and your baby. We will provide you with education around the breastfeeding process as well as choices you may encounter right after birth. By the end of the course, we want you to feel confident in your breastfeeding experience. Remember this is your story.
